Getting to Loch Ness Highland Resort
Making your way to our park in the Highlands
Decided to spend a weekend with breath-taking views, surrounded by nature on one of the most famous locations in not only Scotland but the entire world, all from the comfort of your own private, luxury glamping pod? Here are the directions you’ll need to get to our fantastic facilities. Journeying from the outskirts of Inverness is a fairly simple route and a scenic drive. Follow these directions step by step in order to arrive at your tranquil getaway with ease, the vacation starts with the journey.
Travelling from across the Kessock
If you are travelling from Ross-shire across the Kessock Bridge then take the third exit down the A82 down Longman Road, take the second exit of the first roundabout, continue down that second of the Longman road, take the second exit of the first roundabout directly across and continue down to the second roundabout. Take the second exit of the second roundabout across the Black Bridge, once across take the second exit of the first roundabout down Kenneth Street.
Travelling from the central belt
We’re located around 34 miles outside of Inverness, along the A82 road that leads to Fort Augustus. Finding this road and starting your adventure from the Inverness City Centre, follow Castle Street onto Young Road across the main road bridge crossing the River Ness. If you are travelling from the Central Belt, follow the A9 onto the A82 down the Longman Road until you reach the final roundabout on the A82 and take the second exit to Kenneth Street. Both of these directions will end at the same destination of Glenurquhart Road.
Glenurquhart Road onwards…
Follow Glenurquhart Road past the Highland Council Building, The Co-Op/First Place chip shop to the end of the street, and take the second exit of the first roundabout across the canal bridge. After the canal bridge there will be another roundabout directly past the Premier Inn, take the first exit back onto the A82. It is worth noting that there is a lot of construction work around this area, there has been for a while and there will continue to be due to the new bypass bridge being built directly across from the canal bridge you will cross, so prepare for traffic build-up and potentially long waits at this area.
Directions to nearby landmarks
At this point, you’re well on your way to your magical escape from the noise and bustle of city life. Follow the A82 past The Loch Ness Country House Hotel, Dochgarroch, Lochend, Killian, until you reach the A831, there’s no turnoff required to get onto this road, just follow the A82. You will enter Drumnadrochit. If you drive through Drumnadrochit and follow that road around it will lead you to historic Urquhart Castle, a perfect day out for families or couples who are keen to soak in some Scottish culture and heritage. If you continue on past Urquhart Castle, along the A82 by the banks of Loch Ness you would arrive in Fort Augustus, the end of Loch Ness, and the Caledonian Canal. There are several pubs, restaurants, and sights in Fort Augustus making it well worth the trip through.
The end of the journey
As you make your way through Fort Augustus, continue on the A82 over the bridges. You will come to a fork, follow the sign for Whitebridge and Errogie. Now on Glendoe road, continue for a short time until you see signage for Loch Ness Highland Resort on your right.
